The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will host the 46th Annual Southeastern Transportation Geotechnical Engineering Conference, which offers geosynthetics, geohazards, erosion control, and other geotechnical professionals an excellent opportunity to interact. STGEC 2015 will be held 19 – 23 October 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Greenville.
Greenville is a strong choice. The area has supported geosynthetic investigations in roadway performance, and multiple professional development days have been held in nearby Anderson, South Carolina, which is home to the Denver Down Research Facility (DDRF). The multi-acre DDRF performs large-scale, outdoor testing of vegetated slopes, channel stability, trafficking, polymeric material weathering, and much more.
The organizers seek presentations from the field. Abstracts are due August 14; acceptance notification will be made by September 4; and PPT presentations are due by September 30.
