CLI Earns International Achievement Award

Colorado Lining International, Inc. has been honored with a 2017 International Achievement Award (IAA). The winning project (“Tucson Water Clearwell Rehabilitation and Replacement”) was recognized for design excellence in specialty fabrics applications.

CLI Earns International Achievement Award

The Clearwell Reservoir is Tucson Water’s largest reservoir in its delivery system. Two 30-million gallon cells serve the site. The first of the two cells was taken out of service in 2016 and significant rehabilitation works were conducted, including replacing the old lining system. By May 2017, Cell #1 was back in service and plans were put in place to perform the same shut down and rehab on Cell #2.

The annual International Achievement Awards are sponsored by the Industrial Fabrics Association International. More than 230 entries across 42 categories were submitted for the 2017 competition.

Entries and winners are recognized during the annual IFAI Expo, which was most recently held in New Orleans, Louisiana in late September 2017.

INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, RAVEN’S ACQUISITION

The month of September turned out to be a very big one for CLI. While it closed with receiving the International Achievement Award, it opened with news that Raven Industries had finalized its acquisition of CLI.

Colorado Lining has over the course of more than 35 years developed one the field’s deepest records in geosynthetics contracting, fabrication, and installation. The company now operates as part of Raven’s Engineered Films Division and CLI President John Heap has transitioned to a position as Director of Business Development.

In commenting on finalizing the acquisition, Raven noted “The acquisition enhances the company’s geomembrane business through extended service and product offerings with the addition of new design-build and installation service components. As previously announced, this acquisition will advance Raven Engineered Films’ business model into a vertically-integrated, full-service solutions provider for the geomembrane sector.”

The award-winning Tucson project is another feather in CLI’s cap and gives its team a strong start to its full integration with Raven Engineered Films.
