8.  Performance under tensile load

8.1

8.2

8.3

Biaxial tensile test, out-of-plane elongation.

Uniaxial tensile test, yield stress, elongation at yield, elongation at break at 23°C.

At 70°C.

Out-of-plane elongation ³15% without yielding of the material.

The following values must apply at 23°C:  yield strength ³15N/mm2,  elongation at yield ³10%, elongation at break ³400%*.

The following values must apply at 70°C:  yield strength and elongation at yield:  still to be determined.  Stress ³2N/mm2 at 5% elongation.

The test is based on DIN 53861, see Appendix A.

The tensile tests are carried out in accordance with DIN 53455 with No. 3 samples at a climate of 23/50 and at 70 ± 2°C at speed of 50mm/min.  The samples are taken from the edge of the geomembranes along and across the direction of extrusion.

9. Tear propagation resistance

Tear propagation strength.

Tear propagation strength ³500N.

Tear propagation strength ³300N.

Testing in accordance with DIN 53356-A.

Testing in accordance with DIN 53515. Samples taken along and across the direction of extrusion.

10.  Resistance to punctform quasistatic single loads.

Penetration strength.

Penetration strength ³6000N.

Testing in accordance with DIN 54307 at a punch speed of 50mm/min.
