Fundamental Renovation of Treatment Facilities Completed at Voronezhsintezkauchuk

13 November 2009 - Dmitry Konov, President of SIBUR, and Aleksandr Gusev, Deputy Governor of the Voronezh region took part in the official opening of Voronezhsintezkauchuk waste water treatment facilities. The waste treatment facilities were switched over to full biological treatment after reconstruction of the existing facilities and construction of new ones. Investments on upgrade amounted to RUR 800 million.

Mechanical treatment facilities of the Voronezh left bank area were under commissioning piece-by-piece from 1971, and needed substantial upgrading quite a long time. SIBUR made targeted investments on fundamental renovation of 15 main waste treatment facilities of Voronezhsintezkauchuk, 12 of which were newly constructed, and 3 were completely reconstructed.

The total design disposal of treated water to the Voronezh reservoir will be up to 30 thousand cu m per day. Besides, it is planned to bring the level of waste removal into compliance with the requirements imposed on disposal to water bodies of commercial fishing importance.
