On Wednesday, 8 February 2012, Maccaferri will host a webinar on High Energy Impact Embankment Systems for rockfall protection. This engineering webinar is free and will be held from 1:30 - 3:00 pm (EST). Key aspects of the presentation include:
- Rockfall embankment uses, styles and characteristics
- Differences between embankments and rockfall fence barriers
- Rockfall embankment design procedures
The presentation will offer a non-credit 0.15 CEU certificate.
The rockfall embankment system is relatively cost efficient in respect to traditional rockfall barriers for high energy impact. The embankments are designed to resist multiple impacts with negligible damage, reducing the maintenance costs, and therefore, may be placed close to infrastructure.
Additionally, this system may also have a vegetated face to blend in with the surrounding environment.
