The ASCE Congress on Technical Advancement brings together leaders from the Aerospace Division, Committee on Adaptation to a Changing Climate, Cold Regions Engineering Division, Construction Institute, Energy Division, Forensic Engineering Division, and the Infrastructure Resilience Division. The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Duluth, Minnesota 10 – 13 September 2017.
The theme for this diverse gathering is “Superior Performance in a Changing Environment.”
The full program has not yet been announced but speakers of note to date include:
- Pat Huston, Project Director for MnDOT for the Highway 53 Relocation Project in Virginia, Minnesota
- Dr. Louise K. Comfort, Professor of Public and International Affairs and Director, Center for Disaster Management, University of Pittsburgh: “Designing community networks to support resilient, sustainable buildings in regions of risk”
Technical tours include the Cirrus Aircraft Factory, the historic Thomson Hydro Station (constructed 1905-1907), and the Swenson Civil Engineering Building on the campus of the University of Minnesota Duluth.
