www.geosynthetica.net (gsa) is continually developing to provide comprehensive construction documents and technical support information for engineers, regulators, contractors, installers, and facility owners involved with civil and geotechnical works containing geosynthetics. Its initiation was in response to the changing characteristics associated with construction and facility operational problems.  In the mid 80s, many of the industry’s problems were materials related. Since the early/mid 90s, the challenges have become predominantly information/education related. Conventional courses, workshops, and conferences are not always feasible means of education due to time and financial constraints.

gsa provides off-the-shelf, ready-to-use, practical technical information that can be printed for direct use in construction specification and quality documents at no cost. While engineers new to the field can readily take advantage of the technical resources developed over the lifetime of the geosynthetics industry, experienced engineers can pursue the further advancement of the industry. gsa provides useful information, however, there is no substitute for the value added by personal input of knowledgeable technical, engineering, and scientific experts. gsa is an instrumental interactive tool to bring experts and users together. We invite you to look into gsa and provide us with your input; our staff is eager to deliver what you need.

Web Design with Geosynthetics Knowledge

General Information

geosynthetica.net is responsible for the design and management of the world’s premier geosynthetics information web site also named geosynthetica.net. We have also designed web sites for the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS), the International Association of Geosynthetic Installers (IAGI), Erosion Control Technology Council (ECTC), Xtex Inc., Bradley Industrial Textiles Inc. and many others. geosynthetica.net merges a unique combination of experience - we are web designers with extensive knowledge of the technical and marketing aspects of the geosynthetics industry. This knowledge allows us to design with an understanding of both the site-owner’s and site-user’s unique needs.

The geosynthetics industry insight and technical knowledge gives us the ability not only to design but also promote the web sites we design. Keywording, linking and site promotion are vital to a web site’s success. To correctly and effectively perform these tasks, an understanding of the products, services and customers is required, therefore, by selecting a web design company with our existing experience you are able to ensure each of these tasks will be addressed from an informed position. In addition, clients should realize a cost savings by eliminating the “learning curve” faced by designers without geosynthetics experience.

Process

•Work with client to develop a site outline, general style, structure, formatting and content
•Provide a firm cost for client based on site outline
•Develop one or more “mock-up” pages to present to client for approval
•Refine design based on client’s input
•Add content to all pages within the site
•Proof entire site
•Provide client a preview of entire site for editing and correcting
•Make corrections
•Go live with the web site

Cost

Design is based at a flat rate of $75.00 per hour. A cost estimate will be provided to the client once a comprehensive discussion regarding the structure and content of the site has taken place. Hosting cost is based on the size and information volume required by the site. Most sites can effectively be hosted on a value plan which includes:

•250MB Hard Disk Storage
•48Gb Monthly Data Transfer
•500+ POP3 Accounts (mail accounts hosted @yourdomain.xxx )
•Unlimited DSN Connections
•ColdFusion MX support
•.NET Support
•ASP Support
•XML Support
•SSL Capable (shared cert only)
