Two Materials

Dow Geomembranes are available with two high-performance base polymers:

Hypalon® (chlorosulfonated polyethylene synthetic rubber), and Polyproplyene. Dow Polypropylene Geomembranes and Dow Hypalon® Geomembranes are scrim-reinforced and available in several thicknesses including 36-, 45- and 60- mil (0.9, 1.14 and 1.52 mm).

Dow Geomembranes can be seamed using:

  • Hot air
  • Hot wedge
  • Infrared
  • Extrusion (Polyproplyene field seaming only)
  • Dielectric (Hypalon only)
  • Chemical Fusion (Hypalon only)

Factory fabricated panels can be made up to 25,000 square feet (2,300 square meters) for delivery to the job site.

Applications

Dow Geomembranes are ideally suited for a wide variety of applications where a reinforced membrane is desired, including:

  • Potable water liners and floating covers
  • Industrial waste liners and floating covers
  • Aquaculture
  • Leachate collection ponds
  • Water conveyance

Company Information

Dow Geomembranes is the world's leading manufacturer of polypropylene and Hypalon geomembranes for use as liners, floating covers, baffles, mining heap leach pads, canal liners, agriculture waste liners and landfill covers among other critical containment applications.

For over two decades, Dow (formerly Stevens Geomembranes) has specialized in developing and manufacturing high-performance, scrim-reinforced geomembranes for critical containment applications. With hundreds of millions of square feet installed worldwide, Dow floating covers, liners, and caps are helping to safeguard valuable natural resources the world over.

Dow Geomembranes are manufactured in the company's state-of-the-art, ISO 9001:2000 registered calendering facility in Westfield, N.C. where computer-controlled mixing and calendering operations provide continuous quality control measuring throughout the manufacturing process.
