• Checkmate leads the way:
FlexGrid is the choice of contractors for Segmental retaining walls everywhere.
Checkmate has done extensive testing on the Flexgrid family with various
soil types, so that engineers can design confidently using the tested
reduction factors for installation damage, creep and durability. Checkmate's
products are being specified in more and more projects that are built
on volcanic rock. We decided to test our Flexgrid range with some of
the harshest infill soil that our grid is subjected to, such as six
inch volcanic blast rock. Bathurst Testing Laboratory in Kingston,
Ontario, Canada completed the testing. Results are extremely good and
now engineers can safely specify the only geogrid tested in this soil
type; Checkmate Geosynthetics' Flexgrid.
Please contact our technical sales team for detailed information on the test
results.

• Vernon Reservoir

a value engineered solution for a water reservoir in Vernon, BC Canada.

• BC Highways Base Reinforcement
Checkmate Geosynthetics Inc. Has been awarded an 80,000sm highway
base reinforcement project in Northern BC, Canada. Checkmate's RigidGrid
1515
was the right choice. Soft soils and a short supply of road base fill
make road construction difficult
in the Northern BC. Checkmate's Rigidgrid requires less fill and the higher
flexural rigidity and geometry of the Rigidgrid allows a strong positive
mechanical interlock with the soil particles being reinforced , resulting
in reducing rutting and minimizing differential settlement.. The highway
is built less expensive than the other conventional methods and lasts longer.
British
Columbia's Ministry of Transportation has approved Checkmate Geosynthetics
RigidGrid and RoadGrid lines for use on all Ministry projects.
• Other DOT approvals are in progress.
• In agreement with Checkmate Geosynthetics, Baselite will now bundle and
distribute Checkmate RigidGrid and FlexGrid with it's Keystone
retaining wall systems in Canada.
• Checkmate Geosynthetics Inc. has reached an agreement with EMCO Corporation's
Geosynthetic's division in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
