ASTM Updates

ASTM10 May 2010 - This week's update to ASTM International's standards is, as might be expected, pretty quite. ASTM's next Committee Week takes place in June, after which new work items or approved standards and updates to existing standards might reasonably be expected.

In the meantime, here are a few standards news items for the week, including a reapproved item from Committee D35 on Geosynthetics regarding reinforced geomembranes:

New Approved ASTM Standards

D5884 - "Standard Test Method for Determining Tearing Strength of Internally Reinforced Geomembranes" has been reapproved, available as D5884-04a(2010), from Committee D35 on Geosynthetics

F2686 - "Standard Specification for Glass Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe" is a new standard, now available as F2686-10 from Committee F17 on Plastic Piping Systems.

New ASTM Work Items

WK28738 - "Standard Terminology Relating to Plastics" is a work item revision to existing standard D883-08 from Committee D20 on Plastics
